Portraits Across Three Continents

about

Adam Vaught was born and raised within the bubble that surrounds Orange Country, California. Having waited until the age of 19 to discover the worlds that exist beyond America's borders, he has spent the last ten years making up for lost time. Since completing a degree in International Relations from UCLA in 2002, Adam has worked in the fields of development and tourism using California, Japan and Cambodia as his base. His work and travels have taken him to nearly 50 countries and provided him with an endless supply of unique subjects that require little photography skill to capture. "Rather than allowing my camera to be a barrier between myself and the people I encounter, I use it as a means to communicate.  Anyone can shove a camera in someone's face and bring home unique photographs, but at what cost? I've discovered that honest interaction, exchange and interest in your subject leads to more interesting photography."

Adam lives in Buenos Aires, where he is pursuing a Masters in International Development from Georgetown University.
